i spent about 5 hours yesterday watching the sears canadian open in red deer alberta (figure skating)...and it was the first time that sale and pelletier competed since that huge olympic scandal...they got two 6.0s on their short program and one on their free skate! and kurt browning did a couple of exhibition skates...he's soooo funny...and omg...bourne and kraatz have split w/ tatiana tarasova!!! i thought things were bad enuf w/ shae-lynn's knee injury...but now their coach is gone too! i can't believe this...i mean nikolai is an assistant coach more than anything...how does he expect to take over tatiana tarasova's place? argh!!! i've got my fingers crossed that they'll be able to compete next week 'cuz they're scheduled to.
and then sasha cohen did the most amazing free skate...it was to the romeo and juliet soundtrack and it was just soooo beautiful. and yagudin was there too! he has an inflammated hip and u could tell he was in pain...he was limping but when he was performing it was so good...seemed like he was fine! and of course he won. but todd eldredge got second...and i thought that jeff buttle ought to have gotten second 'cuz in the free skate, todd eldredge was all technique and no interpretation and the whole point of the free skate was INTERPRETATION. so i was kinda upset over that...oh, and takeshi honda was second after the short but he had a distrastrous free skate and dropped all the way to last place -_-*...he fell and the whole thing basically fell apart. oh, and jennifer robinson came in second! she was in third after the short program but her free skate was, surprisingly, pretty good! it was the best i'd ever seen out of her...
